Home Posted on December 29, 2025

GENESEO, N.Y., Dec. 29, 2025 — The Youth Bureau is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Livingston County Teen Recognition Awards.

Sponsored annually by the board of supervisors, the awards celebrate local youth from each of the County’s 17 towns. Honorees have demonstrated leadership capabilities, improved their communities, or have overcome personal challenges. The Youth Bureau is encouraging community members to nominate deserving teens from now until Feb. 6, 2026.

“The Livingston County Teen Recognition Awards are a chance to highlight the incredible youth in our community for their empathy, kindness and helpfulness towards others in both big and small ways,” said Youth Bureau Deputy Director Mary Guldenschuh. “We encourage educators, youth serving organizations and clubs, neighbors and the community at large to nominate a deserving teen and help us recognize youth leading from where they are.”

Nominees must be 15 years old by February 6, 2026. Teens are eligible while in school and up to high school graduation. To nominate a deserving local youth, visit the Youth Bureau website and fill out a nomination form or call 585-243-6909.

The Livingston County Board of Supervisors and Youth Bureau first began recognizing the County’s deserving young people in 1995. Since then, they have honored more than 2,000 local youth through the annual Teen Recognition Awards. The board of supervisors and Youth Bureau will host a celebration banquet in the spring to honor the award recipients. The event will feature prominent guest speakers along with a catered dinner for awardees and their families.
