Home Posted on August 28, 2025

GENESEO, N.Y., Aug. 28, 2025 The Livingston County Board of Supervisors has appointed County Attorney Shannon Hillier to serve as the acting/interim County Administrator effective immediately.

The 17-member board unanimously approved her appointment yesterday following a brief executive session at the end of its bi-monthly meeting. Hillier will work closely with the Board and County leadership to help oversee day to day operations and continue advancing County initiatives.

“We are confident in Shannon’s leadership and ability to provide steady guidance during this transition,” said Livingston County Board Chair David LeFeber. “Her extensive knowledge of County operations and years of public service make her well-suited to step into this role as we begin the search for a new permanent County Administrator.”

Hillier has served as the County’s top attorney since 2017, advising the Board of Supervisors and County departments on an assortment of legal matters. In that role, she has worked closely with County leadership on issues ranging from contract negotiations and personnel matters to major projects like broadband deployment.

“I appreciate the confidence of the Board and am committed to ensuring a smooth transition,” said Hillier. “The County has a strong leadership team and I’m looking forward to working closely with them to continue providing our residents with outstanding programs and services that support our community during this interim period.”

Hillier is temporarily assuming the role of chief administrative official for the County until the Board selects a new Administrator.
