MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y., May 14, 2025 - The Livingston County Board of Supervisors has proclaimed the week of May 11-17, 2025, as National Skilled Nursing Care Week across the County in celebration of Older Americans Month.

With Americans living longer than at any time in the past, the need for high level, quality care is more important than ever. National Skilled Nursing Care Week, formerly known as National Nursing Home Week, is dedicated to celebrating the skilled nursing care professionals who provide essential services to seniors throughout Livingston County.

“Our skilled nursing professionals work tirelessly for our seniors by providing critical services like memory care, transitional care, and other support to help our aging population thrive," said Livingston County Administrator David Pribulka. "We are very fortunate to have a team of dedicated, compassionate nurses to stand by our residents and help them stay vibrant and healthy so they can age with dignity and grace.”

Locally, the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (CNR) is one of the largest nursing facilities in the region. It is staffed by an exceptional team of more than 250 nursing professionals, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants. The CNR team is celebrating National Skilled Nursing Care Week with a number of animal-themed activities and events for staff and residents. Highlights include a visit from the Seneca Park Zoo ZooMobile with the chance to win four zoo admission tickets, and a staff appreciation meal.

The CNR offers a variety of skilled nursing services that have become indispensable throughout the County and beyond as the percentage of residents over the age of 65 continues to increase. The CNR’s diverse care offerings include bariatric care, speech and occupational therapy, audiology, consulting podiatry, and several more, supported by a skilled nursing team committed to patient-centered care.

The CNR also provides memory care for Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia disorders and provides extended stay and transitional care services including gastrostomy, tracheostomy, IV, PICC, stroke rehabilitation and advanced wound care.

To learn more about its various programs and services, visit the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation’s website or call (585) 243-7200 to speak to an admissions counselor.
