MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y., Nov. 27, 2024 — The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have awarded the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (CNR) with four stars in their 2024 quality star rating report.
This marks a significant achievement for the county’s state-of-the-art nursing facility. As the second highest rating awarded, the CNR’s ranking places it “above average” overall when compared to other nursing homes throughout the state and across the country. CNR Deputy Director of Long-Term Care Eric Townsend cites the dedication to patient-centered care and an outstanding staff for the CNR’s continued rating excellence.
“We are so proud of everything we do here and I think I speak for everyone at the CNR when I say it’s incredible to be recognized for our work,” said Townsend. “Every day we look to provide outstanding services that enhance the quality of life for each of our residents. We strive to provide the same level of care that each of us would give to our own families. This recognition motivates us to continue improving and delivering the highest standard of care to our community.”
CMS designed the star rating system to help consumers, their families, and caregivers more easily compare nursing homes throughout the U.S. CMS considers a number of factors when creating rankings, including health inspections, quality measures, and staffing levels. Medicare’s Care Compare web site features nursing home ratings with breakdowns for each of the three scoring criteria.
The CNR offers 24-hour skilled nursing services ranging from short-term, post-acute rehabilitative care to traditional long-term care at the 266-bed, county-run facility. Residents receive care in a manner that addresses the needs of the individual. The CNR promotes a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with activities that involve friends, family, volunteers, and pets to create a homelike environment for residents.
One of the most comprehensive facilities in the area, the Center offers various treatment methods and modern healthcare options, including audiology, consulting podiatry, dentistry, speech therapy, ophthalmology, bariatric care, occupational therapy, pharmacological services, hair care, and more.
